UBIFRANCE gives French innovation top rating at A+A

UBIFRANCE, the French agency for international business development, will present 27 companies on the French Pavilion at A+A, the international trade show for the individual-protection equipment (IPE) sector, to be held from 3 to 6 November 2009 in Düsseldorf (Germany).

In 2007, A+A, which is held in alternate years, hosted more than 1,400 exhibitors from 50 countries, and attracted 55,000 professional visitors, among whom 30% were international visitors. In 2009, the event will take place from 3 to 6 November 2009, in Düsseldorf (in western Germany).

The French pavilion will present companies providing a wide variety of protective equipment for the body. Body-protection equipment represents 80% of the overall French individual-protection equipment market, and is worth €640 million. Around 40% of the companies that will be featured on the French pavilion make protective clothing. Disposable clothing represents 50% of the French market in terms of volume, and is primarily designed for use in the manufacturing, chemicals and services sectors.

The French companies on the Pavilion offer numerous technical innovations, providing a wide variety of technologies and products. For example, there will be manufacturers of protective gloves, a field which has undergone considerable growth over the past few years. Security boots, which are already used to a large extent in sectors such as construction, craftwork, chemicals and metals treatment, also have the potential to be developed still further for use in logistics and transport. The chief requirement for IPE products is protection, but ergonomics, comfort and design are also important.

The French pavilion will be located in Halls 9 and 7A. A catalogue with full details of all the participating companies is available on request.
