LASELEC’s MT 200 sample tester to make its mark at Productronica

LASELEC, a specialist in cable-marking equipment, will present its MT 200 control station for the first time during Productronica, which will take place in Munich from 10 to 13 November 2009 (Hall B4, Stand B4.343). During the exhibition, the company will also demonstrate its ULYS MODENATM and MRO 200 ranges.

The highly compact MT 200 marks cable samples using a UV laser, as well as producing an analysis report. The machine is very simple to use and enables users to check the markability of the cable and carry out periodic controls during production.

The MT 200 is equipped with a laser marker that integrates a real-time self-calibration and energy-control system for the laser source, which guarantees the reproducibility of test conditions. The COMET software system, which is included with the equipment, offers the option of checking the contrast of the marking. The software analyses, in real time, the data obtained by means of a digital camera and a double fibre-optic system that illuminates the samples.

The MT 200 is designed to meet all the requirements of cable manufacturers and suppliers of cable-insulation materials: reduced maintenance, low operating costs and innovative technology make this a highly reliable machine with no equivalent on the market.

At Productronica, LASELEC will also demonstrate the MRO CUT, which is designed to provide manufacturers with a comprehensive automatic solution for cutting cables to a specific length. It is easy to install and use, and is compatible with numerous types of cable. Cutting specifications can be automatically downloaded from production files. The MRO CUT is highly adaptable and has a retouch mode enabling unit cutting for small production volumes.

In addition to equipment for cable makers, LASELEC’s ULYS LINE range includes special machines adapted to various sectors, including the rail, off-shore, maritime and space industries. The range is also suitable for cables designed for industrial vehicles and top-of-the-range automobiles, as well as competition and rally vehicles, which have their own specific requirements.

Direct marking with a UV laser offers the undeniable advantage of reducing the weight of the cabling. This reduction is reflected in the weight of the appliances that are equipped with the cables. The resulting elimination of sleeves and labels has led to considerably lighter satellites as well as competition and rally vehicles. The increase in the cost of energy has also made this factor extremely important both for manufacturers and users. Aerospace manufacturers have already gradually replaced sleeving with direct cable marking.

About LASELEC

LASELEC, which is headquartered in Toulouse (in south-west France), is a leading manufacturer of UV laser cable-marking machines. These machines enable permanent non-aggressive marking that is certified by aircraft manufacturers, an extremely demanding industry in terms of safety. The machines are suitable for use by all industrial sectors where safety requirements impose indelible non-aggressive marking for cable insulation.

LASELEC offers an excellent productivity/price ratio, and has a range suited to every need, from re-work to the production of small, medium-sized, large or very large series. LASELEC’s end-to-end expertise of the design, production and maintenance of its machines enables it to provide cast-iron guarantees as to their quality.

LASELEC will take part in the following trade shows: NBAA exhibition in Orlando (USA) from 20 to 22 October 2009, and Productronica in Munich (Germany) from 10 to 13 November 2009.
