INTERSELECTION brings designer style to mass-market fashion

INTERSELECTION, the trade show for ready-to-wear clothing and fashion accessories for large-scale distribution, will take place in Paris from 20 to 22 October 2009. The organisers of INTERSELECTION also arrange meetings between manufacturers and designers throughout the year, with the aim of developing ranges of designer-style collections aimed at the mass market.

INTERSELECTION brings together designers, manufacturers and retail buyers, and showcases original, inexpensive lines and labels. INTERSELECTION also organises meetings between manufacturers and designers, with the aim of developing ranges of designer-style collections aimed at the mass market. Manufacturers with production tools adapted to medium-sized series who are interested in developing more creative products will be able to meet with designers aiming to create collections in greater quantities and at a lower cost.

The participating designers have been selected for their experience in the development of new ideas, as well as their interest in widening their distribution network. Within the Mediterranean region, the following three partnerships have already been set up between dynamic manufacturers and designers. These new collections will be on show at the INTERSELECTION trade fair in October 2009.

Katherine Pradeau and TFCE Group

Katherine Pradeau’s Les Parisiennes Nomades collection offers a cosmopolitan, chic Parisian look, with a range of influences that combine classic style with unexpected details, such as piping, lace and satin ribbons. The TFCE Group, which is based in Tunisia, is an integrated textiles company (spinning, dyeing, knitwear and warp and woof) specialising in the design, manufacture and marketing of women’s ready-to-wear fashions. In 2008, TFCE manufactured over six million items in more than 1,200 different models.

Tilmann Wrobel and Jabega Group

Tilmann Wrobel will present the first Nadel & Pen collection, which includes six models of jeans in various fabrics and faded looks, including stretch denim, dirty, dark-used and brut styles. The collection also features Read Inside messages on the inside of the jeans. The Jabega Group, which is based in Morocco, has 500 staff working on an 8,000m2 site. It is specialised in dyeing and fading using special treatments.

Les Majesteesverde and Ultramaille

The Les Majesteesverde range of tops and accessories is knitted entirely with organic yarn. The Spring/Summer 2010 collection features 100% organic cotton, combined with linen to create minimalist glamour and chic traveller style. Ultramaille Sarl is a textiles factory based in Madagascar. It specialises in the manufacture of knitwear on straight looms or crocheted by hand. The factory has an annual production capacity of 400,000 pullovers.
