- Millesime Bio to return to Montpellier with gusto in 2010

The next Millésime Bio trade fair – the world’s only professional trade fair devoted to organic wines – will be held in Montpellier (in Southern France) from 25 to 27 January 2010. Millésime Bio is organised by the Inter-professional Association of Organic Wines from Languedoc-Roussillon (AIVB – LR).
Earlier in 2009, Millésime Bio, the professional international trade fair for wines made from organically grown grapes, hosted 354 exhibitors, including winegrowers and merchants, representing an increase of 27% on the previous event. The exhibitors came from European countries and others, including France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, South Africa and the UK.
Millésime Bio 2009 welcomed 1,700 professional visitors, mainly from Europe, North America and Japan, representing 700 wine-buying companies – an increase of 50% on the previous event. In total, and excluding French visitors, 31 countries were represented, including 14 non-EU countries, which gives an idea of the trade show’s reach and significance.
Millésime Bio 2010 will host more than 400 exhibitors, who will include both winegrowers and wine merchants. The event has become increasingly international year on year and, in 2010, even more international exhibitors and visitors are expected.
Millésime Bio is organised by the Inter-professional Association of Organic Wines from Languedoc-Roussillon (AIVB-LR). The event is a focal point for the organic-wine sector, representing all wine-making regions and countries. The trade show provides a unique platform for presenting the year’s new vintage, offering participants a market barometer in the process. As in previous years, all booths will be laid out in exactly the same way: a simple table covered with a white tablecloth – the wine alone makes the difference!
The third Millésime Bio Challenge, the international organic-wine contest, will again showcase the high quality of organic wine on offer. Tasting of samples will take place on 16 November 2009.
