Frog’s Air Process knocks your bodywork into shape

Frogs 2000 of France, a specialist in automotive bodyworking, has launched Frog’s Air Process – an innovative air-cushion system for use in automotive repairs, which straightens sheet metal without altering it. Frogs 2000 will be present at Equip Auto in Paris from 13 to 18 October 2009.

Frog’s Air Process, which is internationally patented, is an innovative process that comes in the form of a ready-to-use kit based on soft, inflatable jacks. Air pockets are inserted within the damaged bodywork, having previously been sized to shape, and are then inflated by a controlled pressure system. When subjected to this action, sheet metal regains its initial shape memory and, as a result, the impact marks can be straightened out with no alteration of the surface elements.

The bodywork is not heated at high temperature, and is neither reduced nor welded, so that it retains its static safety and the integrity of the manufacturer’s technical features; there is no risk of corrosion or damage to electronic parts.

Frog’s Air Process was designed by Christian Sarrion, the director of Frogs 2000. The system straightens all metals, including aluminium. The ready-to-use kit is cost-effective, reducing vehicle immobilisation, operator working time and operator costs. It also offers environmental advantages – being completely silent, it solves the issue of noise pollution, often associated with such industrial processes. There are other environmental benefits: Frog’s Air Process only uses a limited amount of energy and enables users to reduce, or even entirely avoid, the use of polluting materials such as chemicals and paint.
