 French Pavilion at Subcon to highlight subcontracting skills 

The French Trade Commission in the UK will unveil the French Pavilion (Stand G105, Hall 3A) at the Subcon trade show, to be held at the NEC in Birmingham from 9 to 11 June 2009. The French Pavilion will showcase innovative French companies from across the subcontracting industry.

The French Pavilion will offer a unique environment for visitors to discover new products and services and find potential business partners. The participating French companies are aiming to reinforce their professional contacts and explore new business opportunities between France and the UK, on the occasion of the Subcon show, to be held in Birmingham (England) in early June 2009.

On the French Pavilion, there will be a wide range of products and solutions, including raw materials, stainless steel and copper products, precision-machined parts, welding machines and research and consulting solutions.

Comite Mecanique IdF: Stand G107

The committee for mechanical engineering in Paris and its region (Comité Mécanique Ile de France), which was founded in 2001, aims to develop synergies among manufacturing companies located in the Paris Region and to enhance its members’ development and employment capabilities.

In partnership with the Versailles Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCI de Versailles Val-d´Oise/Yvelines www.versailles.cci.fr), Comité Mécanique will present some of its members on its stand, including: Applybox (customised plastic enclosures and housings / www.applybox.com), Ateliers R. Favi SA (Stand G112)

Favi specialises in copper-alloy pressure die casting. The company produces parts from 0.5g to 3kg in small, medium-size and large volumes. Favi’s products have applications in industries including automotive, sanitation, security, fire prevention and fire-fighting, and water metering. In 2002, Favi became the first French company to be granted QSE, which encompasses ISO 9001 V:2000, TS16949, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001.

Guy Degrenne Industrie (Stand G109)

Guy Degrenne is a leading manufacturer of stainless steel tableware. The company forms parts exclusively made from stainless steel or aluminium. It also carries out complex deep drawing, and makes parts with narrow tolerances or with surface finishes. Additionally, Guy Degrenne carries out the cutting and drawing of very thick stainless steel parts.

Gys (Stand G113)

Gys, the leading French specialist in welding, has opened a wholly owned subsidiary in the UK. The company sells a comprehensive range of traditional and inverter welding machines, MMA, TIG, MIG and plasma cutters. The machines are made in France with maintenance services and support available in the UK.

Metra 3D (Stand G114)

Metra offers dimensional analysis combining lasers and scans, which enables users to avoid initial photogrammetry phases and ensures high accuracy in measurements. The company also offers benchmarking and business-intelligence services for product optimisation and cost reduction. Metra employs 10 consultants with a wide industrial knowledge.

Thevenet Technologies (Stand G110)

Thevenet Technologies carries out various manufacturing processes including die forging, aluminium and cast-iron pressure founding, lost-wax moulding, cold stamping and sintering. The company offers complete solutions including various additional operations.

UCH (Stand G106)

UCH specialises in producing precision-machined parts for the medical, manufacturing and luxury goods sectors. The company offers bespoke design and manufacture services and its parts are manufactured in sizes ranging from 1mm to 45mm. UCH makes parts and components from a range of materials including aluminium, brass, stainless steel, titanium and plastic.

Wichard (Stand G115)

Wichard specialises in forging small parts for markets with particular safety concerns, such as the aerospace, automotive, marine and medical sectors. Wichard is able to forge small parts from 1g to 500g in steel, stainless steel and titanium. The company produces small, medium-size and large runs, using power hammer presses and automatic forging machines.

About the French Trade Commission (Stand G108)

The Trade Commission of the French Embassy in London promotes trade development between France and the UK by offering a range of services to French companies. The Industrial Goods Department organises B2B events in the form of conferences and networking opportunities, mainly in London.

Subcon will take place at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham (UK) from 9 to 11 June 2009 between 9.30am and 4.30pm (on the last day, the trade show closes at 4.00pm). The French Pavilion can be found at Stand G105 in Hall 3A. The French Trade Commission will also welcome on its stand EURO/CFD (computer simulation of physical-phenomenon, mainly in fluid dynamics / www.eurocfd.com).
