Secuderm® gives you dressings that are fully waterproof

Secuderm of France, a specialist in medical dressings, has launched a unique, innovative secondary dressing kit combining adhesive gel and a protective film, which provides waterproof protection for dressings, treated areas, compresses or catheters. The company is now looking for distributors across Europe.

The new Secuderm® secondary dressing kit is fully resistant, adaptable and waterproof. It can be applied to any body area, including folds and articulations. It is easy to cut to size and to apply, and can be removed quickly and without any residual smears. The dressing is permeable to oxygen but is resistant to dust and liquids.

Secuderm® is durable and remains waterproof for up to five days, even during total immersion. The dressing can be adapted to fit all body parts, even the most difficult to dress (such as folds, articulations or the sacrum). Secuderm® forms a breathable barrier that is made-to-measure and non-adhesive, and which will not damage sensitive skin, such as that of elderly people.

Secuderm® provides a solution for problems resulting from unsteady bedsore dressings. It encourages the healing of ulcers, eczema, chapped skin, cracks, burns and other lesions. Secuderm® not only protects wounds from water, but also from sweat, dust and stools. Moreover, because Secuderm® lasts for several days, it enables users to save on treatment and materials.

Secuderm® is suitable for use in all conditions, whether in hospital or in daily life. It can be worn during showers and baths, when performing household activities or playing sports, as well as when the wearer is performing a job or activity in environments that are hazardous or which require high levels of hygiene.

Secuderm® is applied in two stages. Firstly, a silicon-based, hypoallergenic adhesive strip of gel is drawn around the area to be protected. Then, three minutes later, the protective film is pressed upon that strip, in order to guarantee maximum waterproofness.

Secuderm® is an innovative secondary dressing that combines the benefits of a liquid dressing with those of a protective film. The product, which has been successfully launched in French chemists’, holds an international patent. It comes in an individual package in two formats (10cm x 20cm or 20cm x 30cm), and has a shelf life of 48 months.

Secuderm® was a winner at Act’Santé 2008 and is also the first waterproof dressing to be approved by the French Navy’s medical corps. Secuderm is currently looking for distributors across Europe.
