Biennale des Editeurs de la Décoration to celebrate 40th in Paris

The Biennale des Editeurs de la Décoration will celebrate its 40th anniversary next year at the Parc Floral de Paris, near Château de Vincennes, from 27 to 31 January 2005. The Biennale is now the leading international event in luxury decoration and interior design. A focal point for new trends and a source of inspiration for all creators from France and other countries, it will be celebrating in style at a premier venue.

The organisers have chosen what is a particularly prestigious venue for the exhibition - a royal garden located on the esplanade of the château of Vincennes, close to Central Paris. The Parc Floral de Paris, in the Halle de la Pinède, features a steel-and-glass building drenched in natural light, which is reminiscent of the Baltard style. It stands in a luxuriant setting of greenery - 35 hectares of landscaped grounds famous all over the world for the remarkable flower collections that they feature.

The location will undoubtedly enhance further the Biennale´s standing. Last year, the event attracted 160 exhibitors and 30,000 visitors (17,000 professionals from France and 13,000 others from all over the world), who were drawn to an exhibition space totalling 12,000 square metres.

Jérôme Declercq, president of the Biennale, explains its unparalleled appeal by stressing the fact that: "It is [an] inimitable [event] in the extent to which it overflows with features, creating a visual and emotional shock in all visitors, forming an exhibition displaying all the richness and know-how of the profession."

The Biennale has become an undisputed byword for excellence in furnishing fabrics, netting and veiling, trimmings, upholstered sofas and furniture, ornaments and embroidered furnishings, designer carpets and artistic tapestries, designer wallpapers, fine leather items, sophisticated light fittings, quality bronze articles, supplies and accessories for interior decoration, and finally fine tableware.
