France offers best business management programmes in Europe

2 October 2007 – France is home to six of the top ten best business management school programmes in Europe, according to the Financial Times Masters in Management 2007 rankings, with HEC Paris in 1st place for the third year in a row.

Other leading French schools on the list include ESCP-EAP (4th), ESSEC Business School (5th), EM Lyon (6th), Grenoble Graduate School of Business (7th) and Audencia Nantes (8th). EDHEC Business School and ESC Rouen School of Management follow closely behind in 12th and 13th place respectively. In total, France now boasts 13 of Europe’s top 40 finest business schools.

“The Financial Times survey clearly shows that HEC and other French business schools are competitive on the world stage. The good news is also that the MSc in Management is becoming a global standard that competes with the dominant American MBA. With this standard, Europe can establish itself in a very important area on the international education market,” says Richard Perrin, HEC Communications Director.

Unlike many other international rankings, the Financial Times Masters in Management ranking is based on a comprehensive mix of academic and non-academic indicators, including course length, languages, faculty, placement success, career progress, salary earned and international mobility.

Philippe Favre, President of the Invest in France Agency, says: “France’s excellent ranking among Europe’s best business schools further underlines our country’s attractiveness. Thousands of foreign students come to France every year to take advantage of its high-quality educational institutions. These students then often stay to work as skilled professionals in many operating companies in France.”
