The French company IDbio SA, a specialist in the extraction and purification of bovine blood proteins, produces Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) and bovine Fibrinogen. Already supplying the major names in the European diagnostics industry, its new production facility based in Quebec, Canada, can now satisfy demand from the North American diagnostics market with its own USDA approved products. The company will be participating at the BIO 2002 International Biotechnology Convention and Exposition being held in Toronto, Canada, June 9-12, and can be found in the BIOMAC booth within the French pavilion.
IDbio´s BSA range is used as a base protein in various applications such as blood group tests, cell culture, electrophoresis, ELISA tests (stopping reagents), immuno-haematology, molecular biology, and serology.
Bovine Fibrinogen was developed to manufacture the RPF medium (an ISO 6888-2 and ISO 6888-3 test) used to detect and identify the pathogenic bacteria Staphylococcus aureus in food products. This test, extensively used in Europe, is gradually becoming the standard in North America.
With its new North American production facility the company is ready to meet the demand from manufacturers for this high potential test. IDbio´s various production processes use well understood and tested techniques that allow it to offer products of a consistent quality at very competitive prices.
